Silence
The gentle sound of hooves dragging along the paddock gets closer and closer, and closer. I look towards the sound, and see soft brown eyes, and a pinkblack nose. She lets out a content sigh, and so do I. The rustle of the trees. Being moved by the wind. It sent a nice cool breeze towards us. Looking up at her, hair moving from its place on my shoulder, to my back I lock eyes with the “beast” in front of me. She dropped her head, slowly; as if there was a bird’s nest on her head. Her nose touched me, soft, gentle. I lean my head against her, landing right in between her eyes, which are half lidded, soft with love. I finally am able to let go. Take down that damned fake smile, and just relax, in the most comforting silence.
